Zang/Fu and The Officials I — Siblings Separated at Birth — 2.5 CEU's

$ 17.50 $ 35.00

In the Beginning: Yin/Yang and the Wu Hsing

Marrying Chapter 8 of the Nei Jing Su Wen with the details of Zang/Fu theory is the essence of this course series. Part One is the derivation of the root of Chinese medical theory and its magnificent coherence and power for healing, beginning from the Big Bang on into the development of the universe.

When Yin/Yang, Wu Hsing, The Five Shen, Zang/Fu, and The Substances are seen to grow out of each other, inseparably, the whole person shows a fullness and texture that is unsurpassed by any other system of medicine. The power that this affords the practitioner of Oriental medicine is enriching, challenging, and inspiring; producing rapidly advancing levels of demonstrated ability and confidence.

This course represents the core of Jack M. Daniel’s vision of the congruence of Yin/Yang and the Wu HsingYin/Yang and Wu Hsing (The Five Elements) arise simultaneously in a common source. As such, they never are, nor should they have been, separated or divided from one another. These siblings, seemingly separated in recent years, have been reunited at last. Come join us as we penetrate to the heart of Jack’s detailed discourse on the essence of whole-person Chinese medicine.

In Part 1 we specifically deal with the relationship of Yin/Yang and Wu Hsing, treating them as Siblings Separated at Birth Who Find Each Other at Last, deriving the Early Heaven Arrangement of the Wu Hsing from the movement of Yin/Yang.

Here is what some of our students had to say about this course:

This intro was amazing. On the one hand, I wish I had been able to take it during my first year of acupuncture school, because this is THE foundation for everything that we learn, and yet as a first-year student it was more like: yeah, yeah, Yin/Yang, five elements, got it; now let's get on to the good stuff! On the other hand, I think it took me a few years of being in practice before the ‘Grand Why’ of what we do as acupuncturists made me want and need to go deeper. For the first time I feel like I understand why there are five (and not four, or three, or seven) elements in Chinese Medicine and why “phases” is a much, much better term for them. To see them emerging from your sine-wave yin and yang was a revelation! So thank you. (Though you might want to add a warning that anyone listening to this might not want to be driving or walking along a busy street at the same time; I almost got myself run over a couple of times on the walk to work, so absorbed was I in what you were saying!)

This course is exceptional on all levels — the very best. This presentation is higher than 6 on a 1 to 6 scale; way higher, so I gave the presentation a 10. It was the most clearly developed presentation I have ever heard on this topic.

This course was excellent in bringing back the excitement of year one in my schooling, Thank you!                                                        Kathleen Lowry

The course is fantastic.  I am having lots of aha moments.  Some of these things I just did not understand in school, and now I do.  I’ve craved this knowledge of the relationship between the Wu Hsing and the Ba Gang for years, but not known how to get it without going back to school altogether.  Thank you so much.                                          Rachel Harrison

I am very grateful that you are going so deeply into the roots and foundations of the medicine.  My understanding has grown tenfold!  Lynette Jordan
