The Congruent Nature of Yin/Yang and the Wu Hsing; The Basic Substances: Shen, Jing, Jin-ye

Marrying Chapter 8 of the Nei Jing Su Wen with the details of Zang/Fu theory is the essence of this course series. Part Two is an in-depth exploration of the nature of Yin and Yang. This is followed by a thorough discussion of The Substances Shen, Jing and the Jin-ye.   When Yin/Yang, Wu Hsing and The Substances are seen in light of their mutually interdependent existence, each aspect reveals more about the other. This enables greater facility with clinical discrimination and critical thinking.

When Yin/Yang, Wu Hsing, The Five Shen, Zang/Fu, and The Substances are seen to grow out of each other, inseparably, the whole person shows a fullness and texture that is unsurpassed by any other system of medicine.

This course represents the core of Jack M. Daniel’s vision of the congruence of Yin/Yang and the Wu Hsing. Yin/Yang and Wu Hsing (The Five Elements) arise simultaneously in a common source. As such, they never are, nor should they have been, separated or divided from one another. These siblings, seemingly separated in recent years, have been reunited at last. Come join us as we penetrate to the heart of Jack’s detailed discourse on the essence of whole-person Chinese medicine.

In Part Two we specifically deal with the relationship of Yin and Yang and the Substances of Shen, Jing and the Jin-ye.

Here is what some of our students had to say about this course:

It is really quite extraordinary how Jack ties together Yin/Yang, substances, and organ functions in a clinical perspective that keeps form and function wholly integrated in Chinese Medicine.

This was an excellent review of the building blocks learned so long ago and so early in acupuncture school. But, you're right, it's really the basis for it all!! We dive so quickly into fancy letters, when it's the basic upper case A-B-C’s that are what we really need to know to have a solid foundation in this field. So thank you for reminding me of the physiology and dynamics of Qi and life. Thank you.
